How do you know if a man has infertility?
To determine if a man has infertility, a semen analysis, known as a spermiogram, is performed. This test evaluates the quality, quantity and motility of the sperm.
In some cases, additional tests such as hormone analysis, karyotype or ultrasound may be necessary to identify possible causes.

One of the most common causes is varicocele, an enlargement of the veins in the testicles that affects sperm production and quality. Other common factors include hormonal disturbances, infections, genetic problems, exposure to toxins or unhealthy lifestyles.

Karyotyping is essential in certain cases of male infertility, as it analyses the structure and number of chromosomes. Genetic alterations can influence sperm quality and the possibility of transmitting genetic problems to the embryo.
