The Vida Fertility team has over 10 years’ experience in managing synchronised egg donation cycles for patients from all over the world.
To ensure that treatment dates can be tailored to your availability, we will prescribe medication. This medication will enable us to synchronise the donor’s cycle with the patient’s cycle.
At the beginning of her cycle, the patient will begin her endometrial preparation by taking estrogens. The objective is to reach an adequate endometrial thickness for the embryo implantation. At the same time, the donor will begin her ovarian stimulation to enhance follicular growth and obtain a good number of oocytes.
The mature oocytes are fertilised in the laboratory (with sperm from the couple or a donor) to obtain embryos. Generally, fertilisation is performed using the ICSI technique of sperm microinjection to increase the fertilisation rate. The embryos obtained are kept under observation in the laboratory incubators until they reach the blastocyst stage (day 5 or 6 of embryo development).
The embryo transfer is performed on the 5th or 6th day of the embryo development to increase the implantation rates. It is a simple procedure with no need for any type of anesthesia. Embryo selection follows very strict quality criteria in order to achieve pregnancy in the fewest number of attempts possible.

Types of Egg Donation in Spain
Egg donation with the partner’s sperm
Egg donation with partner sperm allows the couple to keep the man’s genetic material in the embryos. Sperm quality will be analysed to optimise the fertilisation. The sperm may be previously frozen or fresh.
Double donation
Double donation follows the same process than the egg donation treatment. The only difference is that the sperm used for fertilisation will come from an anonymous donor.
Egg Donation with PGT-A
Egg Donation + PGT-A may be recommended when the partner is over 50, after several unsuccessful attempts, or at the patient’s request. The embryos obtained are checked for chromosomal abnormalities before being transferred.
