To my anonymous donor: Thank you from the bottom of my heart

A few weeks ago some patients who had just become parents through egg donation came to us. Very excited and grateful they introduced us to their baby.

It is usually a common gesture on the part of patients. At Vida Fertility we love it, since it creates a magical moment, in which somehow closes the circle and strengthens the bonds of the relationship that has been created during the fertility treatment.

In this particular case, the patients gave us a thank you letter addressed to their egg donor.

To my anonymous donor:

Thanks to your gesture of solidarity I have just become a mother. It has been 5 very hard years in which I have gone through several fertility clinics until I found the one that was right for me.

Thanks to your decision to donate some cells, my partner and I have just become parents of a baby. Thanks to your decision, today I notice how some of my wounds are starting to heal.

I don’t know if you are fully aware of the importance of your gesture and how you have been able to change the lives of two strangers.

The journey has been very difficult:

Christmas when we were missing something and Mother’s Day with nothing to celebrate. Years of trying hard and going through several treatments with my own eggs, always negative.

Then we accepted and decided to try egg donation. At that moment you don’t know what to think, it’s time to get your hopes up again. In fact, you try not to do it in case it goes wrong again.

I know that we will never meet in person, nor will I be able to explain to you how all this hard road has been until I got pregnant and how I feel now that I can finally hold my baby in my arms. That is why I need to get this letter to you, in the hope that someday you will read it and get an idea of what you have done for us.

I know that donating is not a bed of roses, I also know the pricks for hormone stimulation, the tests and ultrasounds. And I hope that this letter will make you realise just how worth it it was.
